Designed
- For students,
- To organize 4 student lectures and 4 teacher workshops between October and March, 2003-2004. After each lecture, to edit presentation materials and uploaded them to LSO for students and teachers to read and download.
- For teachers,
- To collaborate with CDI of EMB in organizing a series of teacher workshops on research skills, teaching techniques, and assessment of LS curriculum and project learning. Sharing sessions will be arranged in these teachers workshops.
- For organization,
- To provide online tutorials to students that participate the Social Research Project Competition;
- To operate “Teachers’ Forum” at LSO that allows teachers to share their teaching experience.
- To set up an online resource archive where teachers can share their own resources and benefit from each other’s experience and resources;
- To host the Social Research Project Competition.
- To develop the Teachers’ Network by pooling together teaching resources from different schools in the Teaching Resources Archive in LSO, and holding teacher workshops, sharing sessions, and teachers’ forum in LSO.
Actual
- For students;
- The “Social Research Project Competition 2003-2004” for students;
- Four students lectures with topics, ““How to Formulate Research Project”, “Designing Research Plan”; “Developing a Survey Questionnaire” and “Writing Social Research Reports”.
- For Teachers,
- Four Teachers Workshops with topic: “Teaching Techniques of Liberal Studies”, “Curriculum Development of LS under the 3+3 framework”, “Script Marking and Criteria Referencing” and “Liberal Studies (ASL) Teachers: Assessment of Project Work and Discussion on School-based Assessment”;
- Seminar with Topic “Latest Development of Liberal Studies for the New Senior Secondary Curriculum”.
- For organization,
- Social Research Project Competition 2003-2004 Prize-giving Ceremony & Review Tutorial;
- The Inauguration Ceremony of Hong Kong Liberal Studies Teachers’ Association.
